We believe

We are a community of faith that welcomes everyone! People of all races, ages, genders, gender identities, national origins, sexual orientations, faith traditions, financial means, education, marital statuses, family make up, and mental and physical abilities are encouraged to join in and be a part of the work God is doing! Our hope is to be a living expression of the love extended through Christ, as together we strive to be an authentic Christian community — loving God and loving neighbor.

As we live intentionally and love radically, our model of ministry is truly outside the box of traditional church ministry. We know the world has changed and if we are to share the good news of Jesus, we have to do it in ways that connect wtih people in the current culture. We have to go out and not just say we love others - but be intentional in showing love - just as Jesus was intentional in how he met people right where they lived and worked - engaging them in fearless conversation. Jesus also displayed radical hospitality and we too must be willing to welcome and accept those who have been cast aside by others. Could it get messy? You can count on it. Building relationships takes time and none of us are perfect. But, with the help of the Holy Spirit, extending grace and loving unconditionally, we know Jesus will walk with us every step.

WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?

We are not committed to building a huge costly physical building. Our commitment is being the church by being willing to help in communities and setting up worship services and connectional gatherings in various venues in Alamance and Guilford County. We have partnered with other non-profits in the past and hope to continue working with agencies such as Allied Churches of Alamance County, Out of the Garden Project in Greensboro, Peachaven Community Farm in Whitsett and Church Under the Bridge in Greensboro.

HOW OFTEN DOES BE CHURCH MEET?

In the early stages we are planning the following:

  • A monthly worship service and connectional gathering. In this service we'll have music, teaching and other ministry and community related activities

  • Weekly X-Group (small group) Meetings: These are listed on the website and as we add more meetings we will share these on the website.

  • A monthly BE CHURCH service project: We'll announce this in advance as it will be centered around the needs of the community and many times in partnership with other non-profits such as those we mentioned above.

We are just beginning, so our model may need adjusting as we walk on this new journey. Want to join us?
